NH10: What makes Anushka Sharma's film an interesting watch

Leggy lass Anushka Sharma is ready for her next release. The actress was seen in one of the biggest block busters of 2014: PK, alongside Aamir Khan. And Anushka is ready with NH10. She has been busy promoting the film with co-actor Neil Bhoopalam. In recent times, Anushka has not been seen much on the silver screen except for the big blockbuster PK. Prior to that, she was seen with Imran Khan in Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola which bombed at the box office. But fans have a reason to rejoice as Anushka's back with her next film NH10 which has been in the making for a long time. Here are a few reasons to watch out for this Anushka - starrer.

Anushka turns producer - Anushka Sharma has co-produced this project along with Vikramaditya Motwane, Anurag Kashyap, Vikas Bahl, Sunil Lulla and Krishika Lulla, thus making her debut as a producer in Bollywood. Talking about her role as producer to TOI.com, Anushka states, "As a producer, I want to back projects, talents and scripts that speak to me not just as someone from the industry, but as an audience. It is a bold experiment that aims to break all stereotypes — it's a thriller at heart and essentially, a story of survival and courage."

Story - NH10 has been directed by Navdeep Singh of Manorama Six Feet Under fame. This thriller revolves around Meera (Anushka Sharma) and Arjun (Neil Bhoopalam) who are professionals living in Gurgaon. When the two (who play a couple in the film), decide to go for a romantic getaway, things turn ugly unexpectedly as they witness a girl being picked up by a bunch of crooks. As the theme of the film suggests, there is 'no turning back.' NH10 deals with violence and gang wars, particularly in the Northern belt of India. In fact, the movie has got an A certificate. Talking about NH10, director Navdeep SIngh in his interview to TOI.com said, "It's the story of a young upper middle class couple driving to a weekend getaway, not realising what's in store for them. I think it'll stay with the audience much after the film ends." With a few thrillers being churned out in Bollywood, NH10 will be a welcome change!

Anushka and Neil's unique pairing - Anushka has been in the industry for a few years and has worked with some of the biggest superstars of the industry including Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, with whom she made her B-town debut. While she has worked with actors like Shahid Kapoor, Sushant Singh Rajput and Ranveer Singh, this is the first time she will team up with Neil Bhooplam. This is also the first time that Anushka will be seen in a thriller for the first time ever, having done mostly romantic comedies. Bhoopalam has acted in films like No One Killed Jessica, Shaitan and David and is relatively new in the industry. This will be a fresh pair to see on screen and going by the trailer of the film, Anushka seems comfortable enough with Neil. In fact, the two also share a kiss too in the movie. It will be interesting to see what the they have to offer.

Hype- Ever since the trailer of NH10 released online, Anushka Sharma has been ecstatic. In fact, the trailer has done well and the pretty actress took to Twitter to announce this. In fact, the film trailer became a trending topic on Twitter, occupying the second spot.

Releasing during the Cricket World Cup - Like all small to medium sized budget films, NH10 too releases during the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup Tournament, where producers and directors choose not to release big budget films as this can affect the business of their films. But Anushka has chosen to prove her mettle not only as an actor but also as a co-producer of the film by choosing a release date this March. To get the attention of cricket crazy and obsessed fans in India will certainly prove to be a daunting task for the entire team. But since the trailer seems promising, let's hope this one doesn't need much effort to pull the crowds in. And Anushka is doing her bit by actively promoting the film as she's the only big name in NH10. But this risk on her part is certainly appreciated as the audience always wants something different. In fact, in her interview to Dnaindia.com, she stated that she has a zero take on the 100 crore club and that she wouldn't watch a bad 100 crore film even if it did a 100 crore business.
