The actor makes a special appearance in the film and hence the makers of the film have arranged a special screening for him. A source from the film's production team, is quoted in the report as saying, "He had not seen any cut of the film before. He also missed being a part of the entire promotions. In what appears to be a contradiction to reports that the ticket prices for PK will not be hiked, a single screen chain in Mumbai has apparently refused to screen the Aamir Khan-starrer on grounds that the distributors of the film are asking for the rates to be doubled. According to a report in Mid-day, the film that is releasing in over 4000 screens across India, will not be screened in the G7 multiplex and Maratha Mandir, which belongs to the same chain. Manoj Desai, owner of G7 chain of multiplex, is quoted in the report as saying that he was informed by Vinay Choksi that the distributors wanted to increase the price by two times. But Manoj turned down the demand and has decided to replace the film with Rajinikanth's Lingaa. Apparently Vinay Choksi, who handles the booking for Manoj, had informed him that the distributors wanted the upper stall rates to be raised from Rs 80 to Rs 150 and the balcony prices from Rs 100 to Rs 250-Rs 300.

I have promised Aamir so I won't disclose much about the story. But I would like to say that all of you please go and watch this film as it is completely different. For me it's the best film and best performance of Aamir that I have ever seen. His role in the film is completely different. It is completely out-of-the box film with a very strong message. Rajkumar Hirani is going to take a break after PK and plans to go on a trip to discover India. The ace director is planning to take a holiday with his family post the release of his labour of five years - PK. He hasn't decided the destination as yet and has been discussing the possibilities with his family. He wants to tour the entire country and meet new people. The director is excited and looking forward to travel across the country and see everything that it has to offer. The film marks the return of the hit jodi of Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani after 5 years. Their last release, 3 Idiots, was a runaway success that broke all box-office records in India. Having no other big film lined up in December, PK will get maximum number of screens and the makers are hoping to set newer box-office records. The trade is also equally excited about the Aamir Khan-starrer. Exhibitors and distributors are placing their bets on the film.

PK releases on December 19, the same weekend as Dhoom 3, which had released on December 20, last year. Prior to Dhoom 3, Aamir used to release all his films on Christmas, but now he has started releasing his films a week prior. Considering the fact that Aamir's films are family entertainers, it hardly comes as a surprise that the actor wants to cash in on the Christmas holidays.

While everyone is thinking what is the transistor exactly doing in PK, the classic equipment has created an equity and huge recall of its own. The transistor that is inseparable from Aamir Khan in the film, has been getting a lot of inquiries for the auction and sale. In fact Anushka Sharma has been eyeing the transistor for a while now. She has already made a request to both Aamir and Raju to keep it as a memento. A lot of mediums have been approaching the makers for it’s auction as a lot of people have sent them a request to buy the PK transistor. An online auction site has offered Rs.1.5 crores for the transistor. The transistor was purchased for a mere Rs.227 from chor bazaar. But even with such an offer for the transistor Aamir has refused to part with it. The actor has got very fond of the piece and wants to keep it as a part of his own collection. The marketing team coaxed Aamir Khan to re think and part with it. But he feels that something so integral and important to his character shouldn't be given away. Spokesperson confirms the news and adds, “Yes it's true we have been offered a lot of money for the transistor.”
