'Manjhi - The Mountain Man' preview leaked online

The preview copy of filmmaker Ketan Mehta-directed Manjhi - The Mountain Man, which is slated for a theatrical release on August 21, has been leaked online on peer-to-peer file sharing platform. On Monday (August 10, 2015), netizens were surprised to find the watermarked preview copy of the Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer on several torrent sites. The film, a biopic, is based on Dasharath Manjhi, a resident of Gehlaur village in Atri block of Gaya district in Bihar.

Hunterrr actress Radhika Apte is all over the internet these days, not for her acting, but for a video clip that went viral in which she appears partly nude. The video is reportedly from an Anurag Kashyap-directed short film, which was being circulated on WhatsApp. However, this is not the first time that Radhika has found herself amidst a controversy. Having already featured in films like Badlapur, Hunterrr, Rakht Charitra, Shor In The City and many more, Radhika is apparently paying the price of fame. Radhika Apte made headlines in February 2015 after some nude pictures (allegedly Radhika's pictures) started doing the rounds on the internet. Brushing the topic off Radhika tweeted, “You guys! If you’re going to get someone to pass off as naked me, she needs to look a lot more like me.” [sic] But the twist in tale was that this tweet was posted about 4-5 days before her pictures went viral. According to a report on Greatandhra.com, it was reported that the leak was a publicity stunt by Radhika in order to promote her film, Badlapur, co-starring Varun Dhawan. It was also said that Radhika posted the tweet to drive attention towards her leaked pictures which later went viral after the post.

Following this, Radhika was in news again in March 2015 for making a rather bold statement about the Telugu film industry. In an interview with CNN IBN, the actress who has acted in regional films apart from Bollywood, criticised the Telugu film industry for being 'patriarchal' and 'male chauvinist'. She stated in her interview that she had struggled the most with the Telugu film industry and that she does not wish to make any more movies there. She also commented on how the actresses were not treated well in the film industry. A video of Radhika Apte went viral on WhatsApp in April 2015 in which she was seen partly nude from below. The video was a snippet of a short film directed by Anurag Kashyap for the international market. A few seconds of the 20-minute film was taken out, put up online and was being forwarded on WhatsApp. Speaking to Bombay Times about the same, Anurag said that his film was inspired from a true story and it was very difficult to make it due to this little sequence in the film of a few seconds that involves the actress to lift her dress and expose her lower front part. Anurag was not only angry but also felt responsible for the viral video of Radhika. He further added that it had taken them much time to do it in a non-sexual way and that the entire shooting crew was constituted of women. Even while the footage was in post-production, the shot was pixelated. The leak only happened once the footage was delivered to New York. Anurag suspected an Indian guy involved in the leak. He was so furious over the leak that he decided to take the case to the court of law. The cyber cell of Mumbai police registered a case against an unknown person for leaking an adult video of Radhika Apte.

While a lot was written about Radhika Apte's leaked video, the actress couldn't care less. In an interview, Radhika said that she doesn't have the time to react to such news. Remaining indifferent to the leak, she added that she thought the world had lots of people who have no jobs and they sit at home and do whatever they want to do. So she can't waste her time going and making a complaint about it or even looking at it, she said. When asked if she had seen the film, she said that she did watch it and laughed it off because she found it really funny. She also asserted that neither she nor her family gets affected by any such thing and hence it didn't bother her.
