However, the actor revealed in the video chat with his 'Bajirao Mastani' co-star Priyanka Chopra that he wore it as the dress code decided by Zoya Akhtar on the occasion of Women's Day.

It was their way of celebrating Women's Day which he called a skirt day for the 'Gully Boy' team as all including the spot boys, actors and others were told by Zoya to wear skirts.

The animal rights organisation also condemned the gesture of using an animal to woo someone.
