Salman Khan’s plea to quash Valmiki community’s FIR against him to be heard in Supreme Court
Late last year during the promotions of ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, Salman Khan found himself in trouble for reportedly using derogatory remarks against the Valmiki community on the sets of a reality show. Besides him, Shilpa Shetty, a judge on the show, is also facing similar allegations. FIRs were filed against them in as many as six states and the proceedings of the case will continue in the Supreme Court after Salman sought the quashing of these complaints.
FIRs were registered against the celebrities across India including states like Rajasthan and Delhi. In a bench headed by Chief Justice of India, Dipak Misra, the hearing will be held where the court is expected to take the proceedings forward over Salman’s plea. After Salman moved the court for his plea, his lawyers also sought the court’s help to order the state governments as well as police to not register any more complaints on the case. Hence, in the previous hearing, the court had ordered a stay on all cases filed against the actor and had even asked the complainants to submit all the necessary documents regarding the case.
