Here’s what Shah Rukh Khan has to say about ‘intolerance’ controversy

A couple of months back, Shah Rukh Khan found himself mired in a major controversy following his comment on ‘ extreme intolerance’ in India at an event. The issue resulted in several protests against the actor and his then release film, ‘Dilwale.’ Although SRK justified his comment back then saying that his statement was misconstrued, the actor took an altogether different route this time around. At the recent trailer launch event of ‘Fan,’ Khan was yet again asked how he felt about the protest and anti-SRK campaigns. To this, the actor smiling replied, “When I would watch Mumbai Indians' match against KKR, the only one appeal I would make is 'Out'...I am not getting into this. Freedom of speech means the right to keep silent also. I am very silent about this."

Asked if he'd ever participate in one, SRK wrote, "u can't roast me without getting burnt to the bones..." However, the suave businessman-actor, known for his razor-sharp marketing skills, said he isn't too fond of the numbers game. Does he like maths? "As much as a hole in my head," answered Shah Rukh. The best was when a fan wondered if he was for real. “I am your reality draped in colourful dreams," he mused.

Though Ekta shifted the release of her flick "Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara!" to get at least 2000 halls across the country, "Chennai Express" producers later backed out to provide sufficient screens to run the movie. Ekta later came to know that it all happened because of Shah Rukh's decision. The end result was that her film ended up opening on just 1600 screens; a limited release for a movie which was reportedly made at a budget of Rs 85 crore. To add to Ekta's woes, these halls were even small ones which in turn had an adverse effect on film's opening day collection.

Shah Rukh allegedly assaulted Farah Khan's husband and filmmaker, Shirish Kunder at Sanjay Dutt's Agneepath success bash, over Shirish's comment on the failure of SRK's film, RA.One. Farah Khan sent an sms to reporters saying, "Shah Rukh has always told me that physical abuse is the worst way 2 sort out a problem, n that its means the person who's hitting has either a personal or professional crisis going on, n it saddens me 2 see him doing the same." [sic] However, the truce happened after Shirish and Farah, along with the latter's brother Sajid Khan and their common friend, Sajid Nadiadwala, went to SRK's home, Mannat.
