Top 10 upcoming Bollywood films in second half of 2015

2015 is proving to be a massive entertainer with films like Tanu Weds Manu Returns, ABCD 2, Piku winning hearts of the audiences in the first half of the year. The second half seems to be promising too, with potential films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Bangistan, Brothers, Shaandaar, and many more. While you enjoyed watching your favourite stars entertain you with their films in the first half, here's a lowdown of what to expect in the second half of 2015...

Bajrangi Bhaijaan: This will be Salman Khan's first film of the year and it goes without saying how eagerly his fans are waiting for the film. Bajrangi Bhaijaan is slated to release on July 17, 2015. This Eid release of Salman is a story a young mute girl from Pakistan who finds herself lost in India with no way to head back over the border to her home. An Indian man (essayed by Salman Khan) undertakes the task to get her back to her home and reunite her with her family. The film also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Harshaali Malhotra.

Masaan: Starring Richa Chadda and Vicky Kaushal in pivotal roles, Masaan is a directorial debut by Neeraj Ghaywan, who previously assisted Anurag Kashyap in Gangs of Wasseypur. Set in present day Benaras, the plot of Masaan follows two seemingly separate story arcs that eventually converge. The film was screened at Cannes International Film Festival 2015. The first is the story of Devi (Richa Chadda), who is subjected to blackmail by the police after accusing her of indecent behaviour with a fellow student in a hotel room. The second narrative concerns Deepak (Vicky Kaushal), who falls in love with Shaalu (Shweta Tripathi), a young girl who belongs to the upper-class Gupta clan, and their difference in caste leads to familial and societal conflicts. The film is slated to release on July 24, 2015.

Bangistan: This film is another Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's production. It is a comedy satire directed by Karan Anshuman. Starring Riteish Deshmukh, Pulkit Samrat and Chandan Roy Sanyal in lead roles, the film follows the lives of two blundering terrorists on a mission to change the world. Slated to release on July 31, 2015, the film also has a cameo by Jacqueline Fernandez. The trailer that was released on June 11, 2015, received rave reviews.

Drishyam: Nishikant Kamat's directorial Drishyam is an upcoming thriller drama featuring Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran and Tabu in the lead roles. The film is produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak, Ajit Andhare and Abhishek Pathak. It is a remake of a Malayalam film of the same name, directed by Jeethu Joseph with Mohanlal and Meena in the lead. The trailer of the film was released on June 4, 2015. The film is scheduled to release on July 31, 2015. Tabu plays the role of a cop in the film.

Calendar Girls: Madhur Bhandarkar is known for making films with a realistic touch to them. From Chandni Bar to Heroine, he has highlighted the life of women in different roles. And now, the filmmaker is back with yet another film, Calendar Girls. The first look trailer was recently released and it shows what lies behind the glamorous face of a successful model. The film promises to give a behind-the-scenes peek into the life of models who look ravishing while facing the camera. Kyra Dutt, Akanksha Puri, Avani Modi, Satarupa Pyne and Ruhi Singh will play the role of five models in the film which is scheduled for an August release.

Brothers: Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra are all set to thrill you with their action packed drama, Brothers. The film is slated to release on August 14, 2015. Brothers is an official remake of the 2011 Hollywood film, Warrior, and has been directed by Karan Malhotra. Starring Akshay Kumar, Sidharth Malhotra and Jackie Shroff in key roles, the film is produced by Karan Johar and is an Indian martial arts action drama. Jacqueline Fernandez will be seen playing the female lead in the film.

All Is Well: This upcoming Bollywood family drama is directed by Umesh Shukla and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Shyam Bajaj and Varun Bajaj and co-produced by Ajay Kapoor. It stars Abhishek Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor, Asin and Supriya Pathak in lead roles. The film tackles a social issue an apparently has a message similar to Shukla's previous venture OMG – Oh My God! The film is slated to release on August 21, 2015. The official trailer of the film was released on July 1, 2015 and received 2 million views in three days.

Phantom: The film is an Indian counter-terrorism drama directed by Kabir Khan, and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. It stars Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif in lead roles. The film narrates the incidents post the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai and global terrorism. Reportedly, the film is an adaptation of Hussain Zaidi's book, Mumbai Avengers. The screenplay of the film has been written in co-ordination with the author. It is slated to release on August 28, 2015.

Katti Batti: This romantic comedy is actually an anti-love story. Directed by Nikhil Advani, the film is produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur under the banner of UTV Motion Pictures. The film stars Kangana Ranaut and Imran Khan in lead roles. It is scheduled to release on September 18, 2015. The first look of the film was unveiled on June 12, 2015, while the trailer was released on June 14, and has been much appreciated.

Shaandaar: Alia Bhatt and Shahid Kapoor starrer, Shaandaar, is a romantic comedy film directed by Vikas Bahl and produced by Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane. Pankaj Kapur and Sanjay Kapoor feature in supporting roles. The film is supposed to be India's first destination wedding film. Th film which is slated to release on October 22, 2015, is reportedly shot in Leeds. Reports also suggest that Shahid's sister, Sanah, will make her debut with this film.
