WATCH: Urmila Matondkar’s husband and Preity Zinta were co-stars

Of all the hush-hush B-Town weddings, Urmila Matodkar’s was the most surprising, thanks to the heavy wraps she kept her personal life under. The actress tied the knot to actor-model-businessman Mohsin Akhtar Mir yesterday on March 3, 2016. While we earlier gave you quite some details about the man, we have now come across yet another one. And this one’s by far the most interesting! Mohsin was Preity Zinta’s co-star in a 2007 antiperspirant product ad where he bumps into Preity making the fish bowl in her hand almost drop to the ground. Well, it wasn’t just in the ad that he saved the poor fish, the fish in fact lived on even after the ad. Incidentally, Preity had given him a very stern instruction that he could not let the fish die.

Urmila Matondkar's husband Mohsin Akhtar Mir: Lesser known facts

After Preity Zinta's hush-hush wedding, Urmila Matondkar surprised everyone by tying the knot in an extremely private ceremony at her Mumbai residence. The 'Rangeela' actress got married to Kashmiri model-turned-businessman, Mohsin Akhtar Mir. In her statement, the actress clarified that it was an exclusive wedding with only the couple's family and friends present. The families wanted the wedding to be a low-key affair and hence the media couldn't catch a whiff of it. It is indeed a rather happy news that the actress found love and got hitched. However, we are sure that you want to know more about the man who made Urmila fall in love. Let's get to know Mohsin Akhtar Mir better...

Urmila Matondkar's husband Mohsin Akhtar Mir: Lesser known facts

Unlike Preity's husband, Gene Goodenough, Mohsin Akhtar Mir is a part of the Indian film industry. However, that was not always the case. Mohsin is the scion of a well-to-do Kashmiri business family. Like most families, Mohsin's parents wanted him to takeover the reins of the family business once he was 21. They also wanted him to tie the knot and settle down. But, Mohsin, who was bitten by the acting bug, had other plans. He ran away from home and came to Mumbai to chart his own course in Bollywood.

He started off his career as a male model. As a part of his career, he modelled for Manish Malhotra. Since Urmila has always been close to Manish, it is easy to guess how the actress must have met Mohsin. According to reports, the two had met during Manish's niece's wedding in 2014 and hit it off immediately. While the wedding was a close-knit affair, only one Bollywood celeb had made it there. It was Mohsin and Urmila's mutual friend, Manish Malhotra. The couple obviously wanted Manish to be present as the designer might have been instrumental to their togetherness.

Mohsin, who now delves into the Kashmiri embroidery business, is ten years younger to Urmila Matondkar, who turned 42 recently. Mohsin was the second runner-up at the Mr India model hunt of 2007. While he has gone back to his roots and is at the helm of his family business, Mohsin was also a part of AR Rahman's music video, 'Taj Mahal.' The couple looked resplendant and much in love in both the wedding and reception pictures. We wish the two a happy, married life.
