Actor Sabir Shaikh, who gained popularity after starring in a Hindi music video titled ‘Agar Tum Na Hote’, wants to explore more music videos since he says they bring a lot of joy to his life.
He reveals, “When you start shooting for a character, it helps you to live the life of someone else that you are presenting. It also gives you another perspective about life’s ups and downs.
And in real life, it somehow makes it easier to deal with things. I feel that acting allows me to express a range of emotions and encourages me to understand and deal with similar feelings that the character may be experiencing. Aggression and tension are released in a safe, controlled environment – often allowing for a period of reflection afterwards. Playing positive characters for a short time in a music video has its own charm. It brings me a lot of happiness.”
Talking about the current scenario of the entertainment industry, he says, “I haven't done many projects, I still have a long way to go. But the way we hear stories of some actors, who complain about their struggles and get hooked on drugs is a pure lie. We are all grown-ups and have the ability to make the right choices.”
Sabir, who earlier featured in the Gujarati movie 'Wassup Zindagi', is now looking forward to working in Hindi cinema. He says, “Understanding characters, roles and the subtext of plays and musicals allows me to relate better to different situations, backgrounds, and cultures. It encourages me to show compassion and tolerance for others. I'm happy to be a part of the entertainment industry.”
