When you pick up an album you expect to be either blown away by it or return to what you were doing. Well, Jarab comes in the latter category. Even with three music composers — Sandeep, Sachin and Shailesh — on board, the album fails to bring forth any variety.
The track Astitwachya Shodhasathi sung by Awadhoot Gupte, worthy of inducing goosebumps, ends up being just a preachy and lack lustre track.
1x1 polls
Any album is incomplete without a ballad and the songs Darvalto shwas tuza ha and Pher dharlas rani, though packed with decent lyrics, it turns out to be too pitchy and disappointing because of singer Shital’s voice.
Swapnil Bandokar proves to be the only saving grace in the album with the two songs sung by him, Pher dharlas rani and Bedhund mastit josh. Apart from his voice, the songs are easily passable owing to sketchy melodies. Last but not the least, the Hindi track Andheri raate sung by Shital, has its music lifted directly from Shakira’s Waka Waka. While being inspired by an international track is fine, but blatant lifting and not being able to do a good job, even thereafter, is an absolute no no.
