Album: ThackerayGenre: Bollywood
Abhijit Panse’s bilingual biography '
Thackeray', based on the life of Shiv Sena Supremo Bal Thackeray, has
Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead. The soundtrack has three songs — two Hindi and one Marathi, composed by Rohan-Rohan and one instrumental theme track by
Sandeep Shirodkar
.
The composer duo has nailed the ethos of the film, and captured its spirit beautifully, by using folk instruments that are the heart and soul of Maharashtrian music. Whether it is the reverberating Nashik dhols, tutari, or the classical instruments, the upbeat, high-energy songs touch you to the core.
The first track 'Saheb Tu Sarkar Tu', by
Sukhwinder Singh has been penned by Manoj Yadav and is an ode to the journey of the political leader. With lines like, ‘Saans jab bhi chali desh hi ke liye’this track has a patriotic flavour.
'Aaya Re Thackeray' is an effervescent, positive number heralding the arrival of Balasaheb in the film and the Marathi version 'Apala Saheb Thackeray', is already gaining popularity. The composers have maintained not just the feel of Maharashtrian music, but have given it a contemporary, fusion soundscape, too.
