The legendary singer Asha Bhosle left the mortal world at the age of 92. She left behind her music, her legacy, her memories, her essence. Her passing has left a void that can’t be filled. Echoing a similar emotion, popular qawali singer Salman Zaman shares, “She was a legend. You simply can’t imagine music without Asha Bhosle Ji.”

Because of her, the industry discovered that a singer could effortlessly move from the softest melodies to the most energetic dance numbers.”

Asha Bhosle passes away: All about the National Award-winning singer’s last rites

On Saturday, April 11, 2026, Asha Bhosle was rushed to the hospital due to a chest infection and severe exhaustion. On Sunday, April 12, 2026, while addressing the media outside the hospital, the singer’s son, Anand Bhosle, confirmed the news of her demise. He also shared that Asha Bhosle’s last rites will be performed at 4 pm in Mumbai, Shivaji Park. The procession will go from her residence to Shivaji Park.

Furthermore, full state honours will be accorded to the National Award-winning singer. Her mortal remains have been placed in a glass casket, draped in the tricolour and adorned with white lilies.
