“The artist who has really changed my life, and influenced me as a kid and even now is Mehdi Hassan Sahab. He is our hero, our favorite. Whenever you think about Gazal, you think about Mehdi Hassan Sahab,” said the singer.
“I will just share a little story with you, growing up I would listen to him, somehow really wanted to meet him but that was not possible at that point. All I can say is, he has a major major influence on my life, I still learn from him through his recordings,” added Shilpa Rao.
