‘Kabir Singh’: Sachet Tandon reveals he was not the first choice to sing ‘Bekhayali’ for the film

The first track from the Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer ‘Kabir Singh’ was on everybody;s mind by the time they finished watching the trailer of the film. After eagerly waiting for the release of the song, it was a chartbuster in no time as soon as it was released. The song has been sung by Sachet Tandon which has lyrics by Irshad Kamil. Speaking about finding the suitable voice for the song, Sachet reportedly stated that it feels nice when your voice works for a particular character. He added that his voice really suit ‘Kabir Singh’. Being a music director - Parampara and him had a lot of discussions. They tried getting a lot of singers aboard. But, then eventually Sachet had to lend his voice for ‘Bekhayali’ and everyone from the director, producer to Bhushan Kumar supported him.Sachet also reportedly opened up about the difficulties he faced while composing the song. He said that the brief given by the director and producer was a task. The director wanted angst, aggression, love, betrayal in the track. Using these four things, Sandeep Vanga wanted a commercial melody that could get people going. The next part was to sing ‘Bekhayali’ and according to Sachet it was really difficult to croon the track as it has ups and downs, emotions and aggression.‘Kabir Singh’ is an official Hindi remake of Telugu super hit film, ‘Arjun Reddy’ which originally starred Vijay Deverakonda. ‘Kabir Singh’ also stars Kiara Advani as the female lead. It is all set to hit the theatres on June 21, 2019.
