Lag Ja Gale Ke Pir Yeh Haseen Raat Ho Na Ho
“I love this

song

for Madan Mohan’s composition and Lata Mangeshkar’s flawless singing. What else? It’s a classic! The beauty of this song is its thought that nothing lasts forever and we got to make the most of the love that we have,” says Vayu.

Kuch Na Kaho
This one is a classic love song from the classic film ‘1942 A Love Story’ (1994) starring Anil Kapoor and Manisha Koirala and released after the music director Rahul Dev Burman passed away. Interestingly, this was the first film that got a U/A rating despite the kissing scene between the lead actors which was considered inappropriate. Vayu says, “An RD Burman-Javed Akhtar classic, this song is about cherishing the silent words shared between hearts who understand each other in love. This one is a beauty.”

Cheek To Cheek
Fred Astaire performed the song ‘Cheek to Cheek’ in the movie ‘Top Hat’ in 1935. The lyrics, ‘Heaven, I'm in Heaven, And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak; And I seem to find the happiness I seek; When we're out together dancing, cheek to cheek,’ is all mush. Vayu says, “This song really is “heaven”. And then, the tap dancing Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, ufff!”

Something Just Like This
This song by The Chainsmokers and Coldplay is another top favourite of Vayu. “Love doesn’t need us to be a superhuman. We are already enough to be loved and this song reassures that feeling. Also the groove is so nice,” he says.

Kaise Hua

This one is already a classic when it comes to heart-rending love songs. ‘Kaise Hua’ from the flim ‘Kabir Singh’ had Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani in the lead roles. It was sung and composed by Vishal Mishra has been penned by Manoj Muntashir. Talking about this track Vayu says, “I love the composition as well as Vishal Mishra’s voice in it.”

Mascara
Vayu says, “Love lies in the eyes and it’s an honest request of a lover to his beloved to let him find a place there. I think the innocence of this song resonates with the feeling of love.”
