on singer-music composer Anu Malik,

asked the veteran to step down as one of the judges of the singing reality show

10. Shweta Pandit, who was one of the accusers, hailed the channel for its decision.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, the singer stated that if the news of Anu Malik being ousted from the show is true then she applauds Sony TV and Indian Idol for supporting #MeToo. According to her, India needs a change in their mindset and respect work ethics and women at work. She also believes that supporting the survivours is the beginning of these changes.

Music composer and singer Anu Malik was accused of sexual harassment by several women including singers Shweta Pandit and Sona Mohapatra. Anu Malik has, however, denied all the allegations so far.

The music composer has also reportedly released a statement to Pinkvilla stating that he is apparently ‘taking a break” from the show owing to his other commitments.
