The title song of
Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's upcoming film '
Mirzya
' is out and is definitely a wonderful delight. The film marks the big Bollywood debut of Anil Kapoor's son
Harshvardhan Kapoor who plays the title role and
Saiyami Kher. The director has entwined the age old story of Mirza-Sahiban in two time zones, probably hinting at a re-birth theme.
With what sounds like a high pitch folk number, the title song written by Gulzar tells the tale of 'Mirzya' in the mystic voices of
Daler Mehndi
, Sain Zahoor, Akhtar Chinnal and Nooran Sisters. The music of
Shankar Ehsaan Loy
speaks for itself as it makes it all the more captivating from the word go.
From the filmmaker who gave us timeless hits like 'Rang De Basanti', 'Delhi 6' and 'Bhaag Mikha Bhaag', 'Mirzya' is an epic action-romance set in contemporary times. The film promises heightened drama and action packed sequences in the visually rich terrain of Rajasthan, contrasted with flashes of the fantastical universe of the folklore set in the awe-inspiring landscape of Ladakh.
'Mirzya' is set to release on October 7, 2016.
