Shaan and wife Radhika Mukherji escape unharmed after terrifying fire incident in Bandra building; "It was a close call"

Singer Shaan and his wife, Radhika Mukherji, recently shared their harrowing experience during a fire incident that broke out in their residential building, Fortune Enclave, located in Bandra, Mumbai. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of the morning, was a close call for the couple and their family, though they have confirmed that no damage was caused to their home.

The fire erupted on the 7th floor of the building around 12:30 am, while Shaan and his family were asleep on the 11th floor. Radhika revealed that they were woken up by their elder son, Soham, at around 1 am, as smoke began to fill the building. Following safety instructions, the family initially attempted to move to the terrace. However, they discovered that the terrace was locked, leaving them stranded as the smoke intensified.

According to Pinkvilla, seeking safety, the family took refuge at their neighbor Mrs. Kazi’s home on the 14th floor, where they waited for approximately 40 minutes until firemen arrived to escort them out. During this time, Radhika shared that the overwhelming smoke prevented them from going beyond the 15th floor.

Four fire engines and additional firefighting units were dispatched to the scene, with the fire being extinguished after 2.5 hours of tireless efforts. The blaze completely destroyed the 7th floor, with partial damage reported on the 6th and 8th floors. Fortunately, Shaan confirmed that their home remained unaffected by the fire or smoke.

Radhika expressed her gratitude to the fire brigade, the Khar police station for their swift and effective response. “It was a close call, but their swift action ensured the situation was brought under control,” she stated. She also praised her family for staying calm during the ordeal, noting that Soham and Shaan coordinated with the fire brigade while ensuring safety measures like turning off electrical mains and using wet clothes to prevent smoke inhalation.

Their younger son, Maahi, was out at the time, while their house helped and two pets were also safely rescued. Reflecting on the incident, Radhika added, "By God’s grace, our home is fine, with no damage from the smoke or fire."
