Throwback to 'Love Aaj Kal': Songs which are heard even today

Today as the first poster of Imtiaz Ali's forthcoming film, 'Love Aaj Kal' starring Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan was released, it took us back in time and compelled us to cherish one of the musical releases of the year 2009 starring Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone's which had the same title, 'Love Aaj Kal'. The film that was released on 31 July 2009, is an old stereotype love story between Deepika and Saif, wherein the leading couple falls in love, gets separated and gets back again.
Thanks to the leading couple, the movie did pretty good business at the box office. Apart from the basic love story, the songs of this movie became more popular and gained maximum attention from the masses.
Songs like 'Dooriyaan', 'Twist', 'Aahun Aahun', 'Aaj Din Chadeya' are heard and played even today. While the music of 'Love Aaj Kal' is composed by Pritam, the lyrics are penned by Irshad Kamil. The peppy tracks and soothing numbers are still fresh in the minds of the audience.

The movie starts with the song ‘Twist’ which is a happy-go-lucky song where Saif is seen flirting and mingling around and is one of the well known parting numbers even after 10 years. In 2009, this song was considered way ahead of time and was considered one of the songs which were played on various party occasions.
Then the movie moves ahead with a romantic number, ‘ ’ which shows the fun in friendship and relationship. This song is evergreen and even if this song was released today it would have gained much popularity. Deepika's bindass avatar from the song was well appreciated by her fans.

Then comes the heartbreaker ‘Dooriyan’ which takes us to the flashback of memories. This song has mixed emotions which talks about the phase post-break-up and the struggle of coping up.
Then comes another hit song ‘Aaj din chadeya’ again, this song gives us the feeling of being loved and falling in love at the same time. This lyricist of this song is simple and beautifully written.

Finally, the film ends with a song ‘Aahun Aahun’, and is one which is played at the parties even today. The song shows the beautiful chemistry between Saif and Deepika.
