Former PRISTIN member Xiyeon revealed on “The King of Mask Singer"

The latest episode of “The King of Mask Singer” unveiled the identity of “Dream Interpretations over Dreams,” surprising fans with a familiar face.

On the December 15 episode of the popular singing competition, eight new contestants came forward to challenge the reigning champion. For the final match-up of Round 1, "Dream Interpretations over Dreams" faced off against her opponent, singing a duet of Jung Seung Hwan's emotional ballad "If It Is You."

As an insight to her identity, the program made public childhood photos of the masked singer. As a child star and model, "Dream Interpretations over Dreams" has also had pictures with other known actors, including Choi Soo Jong, Lee Bo Young, and Kim Sung Ryung. She eventually lost that round to her competitor as the celebrity panel did applaud her beautiful vocal tone.

After her loss, the singer gave an emotional performance of Block B's Zico's "It Was Love," featuring f(x)'s Luna. Halfway through, she removed her mask, and to everyone's surprise, she was Xiyeon, a former member of PRISTIN. Xiyeon had first entered the public eye as a contestant on Mnet's "Produce 101" before debuting as a singer.

When host Kim Sung Joo remarked that it had been a long time since she performed on stage, Xiyeon admitted, “Yes, I’m so, so nervous.” She elaborated, “Since I’d always performed on stage together with the other members, standing up here alone felt so nerve-wracking because I’ve never done this before.”

It all ended on a happy note as Xiyeon spoke of her acting career and new development that the group was going to be seeing some of her in acting in quite a number of productions, starting from this year, and requested fans to keep expecting her upcoming projects.
