When a thief turns cop to catch a thief

He may be more involved with filmmaking these days, but Rockline Venkatesh is never far away from the silver screen. The actor-filmmaker's upcoming release is the Pavan Wadeyar-directorial, Nataraja Service.
'In the film, Venkatesh plays Inspector Venkatesh, a very jovial cop, who does not punish criminals, but instead makes them aware of their wrongdoings and gets them to turn over a new leaf. Sharan plays Nataraja, a petty thief who Venkatesh has a soft corner for. In fact, Venkatesh gives Nataraja an opportunity to turn his life around,' explains Pavan, adding, 'The characterization of Inspector Venkatesh is quite funny, especially his love for chocolates. For him, chocolates provide stress-relief. In fact, the bigger his tension, the bigger the chocolate he eats. What's also interesting is that he is a thief-turned-cop. Logically, that makes no sense, but it makes for a good laugh.'
On his part, Venkatesh says that he enjoyed playing the part. 'I love getting into cop mode and this film offered me that, albeit with a twist. Playing this character was good fun,' he says.
