Debutant director Punit Rangaswamy’s upcoming film, yet to be titled, is inspired by a real-life love story set against the scenic backdrop of MM Hills. Tharun Sudhir, serving as the creative head, is also producing the film in collaboration with Atlanta Nagendra.
“Puneet is a brilliant writer and has been with me for a while now. He penned the lyrics for the farmer song in Kaatera and Aane Maadi Helutini in Guru Shishyaru. I had no doubt that he could craft a compelling script, and that’s exactly what he delivered,” shares Tharun.
Set in Chamarajanagar, near the Karnataka-Tamil Nadu border, the film is described as an intense love story. “As the tagline says, it’s ‘a love story that shook the silence of MM Hills.’ It’s a tale of pain, silent struggles, and resilience. Punit wrote it so beautifully that I couldn’t let it go. That’s when I decided to come on board as the creative head and one of the producers,” adds Tharun.
The film is scheduled to go on floors on December 25.
