Acting in Kaiva was an enriching experience: Megha Shetty

Actress Megha Shetty, who is playing the role of a Muslim girl, Salma, in the film Kaiva, shares that the movie and the role will always remain special to her. “Playing Salma was extremely challenging as I had to learn and absorb a new culture for the role. The makers also ensured that my looks were thoroughly studied so it would look as natural as possible,” she shares.
“The nuances of embodying a different persona — the mannerisms, body language, and imbibing the culture and traditions — have been an enlightening journey. Hence, this movie and playing Salma will always stay close to my heart,” she adds.
The film, set in 1983, is based on a true incident. “In fact, the couple Dhanveer and I play are still alive. It was an honour to step into their shoes and tell their story to the world,” she adds.
