“We are currently having our jury screenings for the year 2021 and there are permissions for various films for our retrospectives and other plans happening. We are waiting for the Chief Minister to officially announce the dates. The event will take place in the final week of February, as it always has," shares Suneel.
The actor and filmmaker shared that they are yet to decide on the format of the festival this year. "A lot of international festivals, including

Berlin

, have chosen to take the online route. We will take the call on whether we will be online or hybrid in nature looking at the prevalent conditions in the state and the guidelines that would be present accordingly," he adds.

Additionally, Suneel also shares that the festival will be a combination of sorts to include the year that was missed out due to the pandemic. "We are looking at having both 2020 and 2021 films being screened and in competition. We will have two sets of awards being given out as well. We already had our shortlists and selections for the festival last year, so we will look at having a selection of films in each category for both years," he explains.
