Buzz - Dhruva Sarja’s 'KD The Devil' likely pushed to 2026; Director Prem to avoid clash with Darshan
The expectations are quite high for the upcoming Kannada action thriller 'KD The Devil', starring Dhruva Sarja and Sanjay Dutt.
Now it seems that the film is now likely to hit theatres in 2026 which is followed by delays and strategic scheduling considerations.
Release plans for 'KD The Devil'
As reported by OTT Play website, director Prem had earlier hinted at a Deepavali release in 2025, but no official announcement has been made amid the ongoing box office wave of Rishab Shetty's 'Kantara Chapter 1' which is now running housefull in theatres with magnificent reception from the audiences.
Shoot for 'KD The Devil' not completed?
Reports suggest that the shoot for the Dhruva Sarja starrer had not been fully completed, and a planned cameo by Kiccha Sudeep was eventually scrapped in mid-September, further complicating release plans. Prem had previously indicated he intended to release KD sometime between 'Kantara Chapter 1' and Darshan’s 'The Devil' slated for December 12.
Strategic scheduling post- Yash's 'Toxic'
The film, produced by the same banner backing Yash’s 'Toxic', will avoid clashing with major releases in 2025. With the Geethu Mohandas' directorial slated for March and the busy Christmas period favoring Kiccha Sudeep’s releases, KD The Devil may now look for a post-Toxic window, possibly late 2026.
Impressive teaser for 'KD'
The teaser of KD The Devil was unveiled on July 10 during a multi-city promotional tour in Mumbai. The plot revolves around Dhruva Sarja and Sanjay Dutt who are two formidable forces “bonded by blood.”. The trailer promised a high-octane action flick featuring the star actors from Kannada film industry and Bollywood.
The film features an stunning cast that includes Shilpa Shetty, Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind, and many more. Reeshma Nanaiah who is known for the Upendra Rao starrer 'UI', plays the female lead. Nora Fatehi will make her Kannada debut with a special song.
