City Civil Court rejects Sruthi Hariharan's plea against Arjun Sarja's defamation suit

Civil Court

has dismissed actress Sruthi Hariharan's application for cancellation of the defamation suit filed by actor Arjun Sarja in connection to the #MeToo case.

In October 2018, the actress had alleged that Arjun Sarja had sexually assaulted her during the ‘Vismaya’ movie shooting, post which Arjun Sarja filed a defamation suit against her. Arjun had filed a defamation suit of Rs 5 crore at the Bangalore City Civil Court against actress Sruthi, through his nephew and actor Dhruva Sarja.

The defamation suit stated that Sruthi Hariharan was not being reasonable; hence Sruthi’s lawyer filed an application at the 22nd additional City Civil Court to overturn the case. However, Judge K Mirza dismissed the plea.
