Comedy actor Chikkanna to play the lead in 'Upadhyaksha'

One of the busiest comedy actors in Kannada cinema, Chikkanna is turning into a hero with the film 'Upadhyaksha'. Comedy actors turning into a hero is not a new thing and now Chikkanna also joins the list and 'Upadhyaksha' also will be going on floors from July 17. The film is directed by Anil Kumar of 'Kaaneyadavara Bagge Prakatane' fame!


The makers clarified the story of the film will stick to comedy as Chikkanna also said in his recent interviews. And another piece of news is 'Upadhyaksha' is the sequel to 'Adhayaksha' (a remake of the Tamil film 'Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam') which bought comedy actor Sharan much success as an actor. Also, the makers say that the audience will not be disappointed to enjoy all the comedy they expect out of Chikkanna in 'Upadhyaksha'.

The entire shoot is been planned to finish in one stretch from July 17. Most of the shooting is planned in Mysuru and a few other portions are to be shot in Bengaluru.


On the technical side of the film, Arjun Janya will compose the music, cinematography will be helmed by Shekar Chandru and KM Prakash will be doing the editing. Malaika Vasupal, who has become a household name through TV serial 'Hitler' will be making her cinema debut with 'Upadhyaksha' and juggle between the film and serial shoot. The other cast include Ravi Shankar, Veena Sundar and Sadhu Kokila.
