Darshan took up Kurukshetra to play Duryodhana

Many years ago, when producer Muniratna first approached Challenging Star Darshan for a role in his ambitious project, Kurukshetra, he wanted the actor to be Bheema, with Upendra as Duryodhana. Darshan flat out refused and was adamant that if he were to do the film, he had to be Duryodhana. As luck would have it, Muniratna got around to making the film only much later and gave Darshan what he wanted - a take on the Mahabharata from Duryodhana's perspective.
Muniratna Kurukshetra, which releases tomorrow, also stars late Ambareesh, V Ravichandran, Sonu Sood, Arjun Sarja and Nikhil Kumar, among many others.
