Filmmaker Dayal Padmanabhan won a lot of critical acclaim for his

film Aa Karaala Ratri

, which was based on a play, and starred J Karthik, Anupama Gowda, Rangayana Raghu and Veena Sundar in prominent roles. The dramatized narrative of the goings on in one night and the multitude of emotions that everyone faces because of an ill-fated act is what made everyone rave about the film when it released.
