Archana Kottige – who made her debut with
Aranyakanda
in 2018 – is excited about her second film,
Dear Sathya
, which is releasing next weekend. The movie sees her sharing screen space with Aryan Santosh is directed by Shivaganesh.
“This feels like my debut film because it is the first time I have danced in a film. The movie was ready even before COVID, but we had to wait to release it at the right time,” says Archana.
Talking about her character in the film, Archana shares, “I play a simple girl named
Anjali who goes for air hostess classes in the morning and works at a cafe in the evening. What makes my role interesting is how her life influences the protagonist, Sathya. Although it’s a commercial film, I have plenty of scope to showcase my acting skills. What makes Dear Sathya special for me is that I was finalised just a day before the team began shooting and I shot for the climax on the first day of the shoot, which made me nervous. It was quite a memorable experience.”
On working with
Aryann Santosh
, she adds, “He has been in the industry for a long time. We had a lot of fun on the sets and he created a comfort zone so that I could shoot with ease.”
The actress, who has many films in the pipeline, adds,“Dear Sathya will be my first step in the right direction. The movie instilled confidence in me to have a long career in Sandalwood, which led me to act in many films, like

Eliyutte Kaala, Shabari, Hostel Hudugaru Bekagidhare, Bayaluseeme, Alankar Vidyarthi and many more. I am happy to have portrayed different characters in my movies,” she signs off.
