After a long hiatus, director
Prem is returning to acting with a film directed by Shashidhar M. The project, which is untitled as of now, will be his second Sandalwood film. The pan-India movie will have four female protagonists. The filming is expected to begin in November.
Shashidhar says, "It’s a zombie film laced with psychological thriller elements, the first of its kind to be made in South India.
It is a rarely tried subject, even in Bollywood. That is why we thought of ensuring it reached all kinds of audiences. The movie will be shot simultaneously in Kannada and Telugu, in the desert. We will be erecting massive sets. The movie will showcase an ensemble cast."
Talking about getting Prem on board, Shashidhar says, "Prem always encourages newcomers. When I showed him the trailer for Gharga, my debut flick, he asked me if I was working on any other project. I narrated the story, and it left him in awe. He felt the storytelling was unique and was bound to stand out."
Prem will play a realistic character set in three different avatars, adds Shashidhar. "There will be many zombies in the film too, offering a futuristic approach. The movie will give Prem a major makeover. The plot relies heavily on screenplay, which will leave the audience guessing about the climax till the end," he concludes.
