producer Sundar Gowda. Vijay was trying to mediate between Shivshanker Gowdaand his 52-year-old father-in law, Jayaram, when he reportedly lost his temper and went into a fit of rage. The incident occurred at a private place about 500 metres away from Chennamanakere Achukattu police station. Vijay was later released on bail, and when contacted later in the evening, told Bangalore Mirror that it was 'a family matter' and the aggrieved side has decided to compromise with him.

He was booked under sections 314, 504, 506 and 323 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for wrongful restraint, criminal intimidation, intentional insult and voluntarily causing hurt.

However, Vijay admitted that there was a 'small incident' which was amicably settled later.

'It is a family matter for us and we have arrived at a compromise. The recent days have been very traumatic for me and at this point I do not want talk much about the matter," he said.
