Kannada film Buddies, starring Kiran Raj and Siri Prahlad in lead roles, is releasing today in cinema halls across Karnataka. Directed by Gurutej Shetty, the film has been made under the banner of Bharti Shetty Films.
Bharti Shetty, for whom this is the first feature film as a producer, says, “It was my dream to produce a movie and this has been fulfilled with Buddies. People always complain about the lack of quality content in Sandalwood, but Buddies is a perfect entertainment package for people of all ages because the story, set in a college, blends the right dose of love, dance, song, music, friendship, suspense, action and comedy elements. It is neatly crafted and technically well made without any vulgarity. The storyline has a moral, which everyone will like. We have shot in Tumkur, Goa and Bengaluru.”
On Kiran Raj playing the lead role, she shares, “I feel Kiran Raj is a natural actor who immediately strikes a chord with audiences. In Buddies, he plays a college student which suits his image. There are a couple of songs in the movie. Hodi Maga Goli, a montage single-take song, crooned by Naveen Sajju, explores college life and brings back golden memories of one’s student days. Romantic track Gelathiye, sung by Aishwarya Rangarajan and Varun Ramachandran, is aesthetically shot across Goa and is soothing.”
The film also has Gopal Deshpande, Aravind Bolar, Girish Jatti, Uday Surya and Rohan Sai in prominent roles.
