For everyone at the theatre, there was a different emotion. But, today there was just pure love for the cinema. Also, this is the first time I’ve watched Appu, and that too with my son, Surya. I am overwhelmed and emotional. I have so much love for the people who decided to re-release it. Despite so much time, the film has not aged at all. I just miss Appu so much. He would have turned 50 on Monday. When I saw Appu and Suchi (my character) on screen, I felt a rush of emotions. Life does come full circle and I am grateful for the love that’s being showered on the film even after so many years.
Rakshita Prem, actor

Watching the first show at 10.30 am at Nartaki theatre was total madness. I’ve not seen something like this for a long time. There were fireworks, there were lights- LED ones, and confetti blasts, along with garlands, flowers and coins. There was a mangala aarti being done. I never expected this to happen. I can say this reaction was much bigger and better than the day the movie was released in 2002. Also, I came in today morning from London, just for this film. I must also add, this is one of the best films I’ve been a part of and watching this transported me back to my 14-year-old self. I felt very nostalgic and emotional, even more so, because it’s also Appu’s 50th birth anniversary
