'Festivals are extremely important to Indian culture; it’s what keeps families together', says director Santhu
Director Santhu may have directed By2Love which I a modern tale of love and relationships, but deep down he’s a traditional man at heart. “It’s becoming increasingly common for youngsters to move away from families and traditional values. They want to live by themselves and not participate in family functions as they are consumed by their own ways of modern living,” points out Santhu. The director who swears by familial love and harmony shares that he’s pained to see that many youngsters are now wishing to live away from their parents and post marriage wish to do away with in laws. “And I’m a big professor of Indian festivals. They bring people together and keep relationships intact. They are extremely important to Indian culture and is what makes us unique when compared to other countries. Family is most important to me,” states Santhu.
Meanwhile, the leading lady of his film shares that she’s always been a family-oriented girl and cannot do without them. “My parents, my grandmother and my relatives are extremely pivotal in my life. And I love visiting my ancestral house at every opportunity. I’m nothing without my family,” sums up Sree Leela.
