Fire and ice: Ravi Varma and Imran Sardhariya to direct debut B'wood flick
Stunt director Ravi Varma and choreographer Imran Sardhariya are directing a film with Aayush Sharma in the lead. The project, which marks their directorial debut in Bollywood, has adventure, action, love, witty and romantic elements.
Ravi Verma says, “We discussed various projects before zeroing in on a pucca commercial subject. It was Imran who first came up with the idea of directing a film which, I thought, would bring the best out of us.”
Imran tells us, “I am a great fan of Ravi master’s work. His fights have intensity, energy, and emotional appeal which is why I approached him for a collaboration. He is like fire, and I am always cool and calm which makes me concentrate on reasoning and presentation, bringing the right balance. I think this is perhaps for the first time that two technicians from different streams are directing an Indian film.”
The stunt director further adds that Abbas-Mustan and Dorai Bhagavan are their inspirations. “When two contrasting mindsets collaborate, the product becomes even more enriching and the reason why we decided to take it to Bollywood is that we can reach a wider audiences.”
On choosing Aayush Sharma, Imran says, “He looks strong and has innocent eyes, and fits the bill. We plan to begin shooting by December after finalising the heroine and the rest of the star cast. Ravi Basrur is composing the music, Chandramouli has penned the dialogues and AJ Shetty is the cinematographer.”
