Tharle Nan Maga is a romantic comedy movie written and directed by Upendra. This is the directional debut film of Upendra. Navarasa Nayaka Jaggesh, Anjali Sudhakar, Nithya, Tennis Krishna, and M.S Umesh have played the lead roles in the film. 'Tharle Nan Maga' is a story of a family, where the father wants to get his son married for dowry but later realized that it is bad. 'Shhh!' Is one of the best horror-suspense movies of Sandalwood. This is the second successful movie under Upendra direction. The story sees an estate owner wife would’ve murdered his friend and family for the treasure but his friend's son remains alive and takes revenge. Om is an epic movie in Sandalwood which was made in 1995. The crime drama film was directed by Upendra and which was re-released more than 550 times and sold its TV rights in 2015. Om starred real-life rowdies Jedarahalli Krishnappa, Bekkina Kannu Rajendra, Tanveer, Korangu Krishna for supporting roles in the film. The movie starts with a journalist who motivates real-life gangsters to leave underworld. The movie revolves around Satya (Shivrajkumar) who is the son of a priest turned as rowdy because of his girlfriend who encourages murder. Later his girlfriend realizes her fault and tries to get back him to her life. Satya leaves the underworld to lead a happy life. The film was remade in Hindi and Telugu.

'Swasthik' is another best directorial film of Upendra starring Raghavendra Rajkumar and Vijaylakshmi in the lead roles. The film revolves around terrorism and how it's attracting the youth.
