Giving 3 heroines equal screen space was tough, but we managed it: Mahesh Gowda
Director Mahesh Gowda, who made his debut with Rugged, is back in action with romcom Tribble Riding, starring Ganesh, Aditi Prabhudeva, Rachana Inder and Megha Shetty in lead roles.
Ecstatic about his second project, which is releasing in cinema halls on Friday, Mahesh says, “Rugged was an action-packed mass entertainer. When I planned my second directorial project, I wanted to touch upon a subject which would be challenging, while catering to the masses. That is when I decided to zero in on Ganesh, who I know from the time I was an associate director for Mungaru Male.”
Regarding the plot, he tells us, “Tribble Riding has a love story. There are many reasons for a couple’s separation, be it circumstances, caste, religion, parents’ approval or even personal ego clashes. In this movie, we have dealt with a point which no one would have ever imagined. Also, there is an ensemble cast and in one scene, there are as many as 18 artistes.”
On working with Ganesh, he shares, “He is the first to get to the set in the morning and that makes the technicians’ jobs easy. Whenever he is present on the set, there’s plenty of laughter. Ganesh plays a doctor and I am sure everyone will enjoy his role.”
About naming the three female characters as Ramya, Rakshitha and Radhika, Mahesh reveals, “Everyone knows these three are big names in Sandalwood and there is a reason for that. There is also another character called Rashmika and this is a surprise element. Aditi, Rachana and Megha all have equal screen space, a tough thing in a multi-starrer film, but we have managed to do that.”
