I was disturbed by stories of sex workers
According to actress
'Our director put us through a series of workshops to help us understand and get into the skin of our characters. We watched a lot of documentaries about sex workers that gave us a true picture of the stories we were going to be part of. Pradeep's research for the film has taken him to red-light areas in our country, and the real stories from there are shocking. I was in tears when I heard some of them. As a woman, one is bound to feel disturbed by these stories. So, in addition to getting into the character, we also follow a process in which we get out of character at the end of each day of the shoot. This is to ensure we do not continue to feel low or end up carrying the weight of the character back home,' explains Shwetha.
The actresses were also asked not to work out for 2-3 months before the shoot to be able to achieve the right body type for the role. 'Traditional fine art describes how an ideal woman's body type should be, and the girls have managed to achieve that body type to a great extent,' Pradeep tells us. The team, which has just completed its first schedule, has released its first look. The second schedule will be in different areas of Bengaluru and Mangaluru.
