As a first time-producer, Pannaga Bharana says he could have chosen any subject that’s commercially viable for his debut production. But the actor-director wanted to pay a tribute to the women in his life. “I could have done an action drama with a male lead and it would have worked out commercially for me. But we choose to make our first film a woman-centric one and have everything else circle around it. We did so in order to empower the women in our state,” says Pannaga, who along with Spruthi Anil and Chethan Nanjundaiah is producing Tatsama Tadbhava.
Pannaga shares that he decided to make the film as a dedication to all the strong women in his life. “I’m surrounded by a lot of strong women in my life. My mother– a state award-winning producer and costume designer, my wife- an entrepreneur and ‘super mom’ and many of my friends who are so hardworking and passionate. I’m inspired by them every day. This movie is a dedication to all of them.”
As for casting Meghana in the lead, Pannaga says no one could have been a better fit for the role. “Meghana is one of the strongest women I have met in my life. I know her from the time when she was handling her work to now handling her personal life being a single parent. She manages everything perfectly. Even when we lost our friend and all of our morale was down, she was the one who came and picked us up. I couldn't have found anyone better to cast in this role.”
