Jacob Verghese has created a huge buzz around his next, ‘
Chambal
’ with the release of the poster and trailer starring
Satish Neenasam
in a lead role of an IAS officer.
While rumours has it that the movie is based on former IAS officer DK Ravi, Director Jacob Verghese clarified and said, “These stories are close to former IAS officer DK Ravi life. However, we don't have the intention to hurt and insult anyone's feeling. We are inspired by the events that took place around us, and it is also inspired by many
IAS officers
' real life.”
Prior to this, the director intended to name the movie ‘Subhash’ and later stuck with ‘Chambal’. The main character in the movie is named Subhash, he explained, "'Chambal' is a metaphor, which reflects the ongoing violence in the concrete jungle and around us."
