Jahnvika Kalakeri to play Suneel Rao’s wife in Veer Savarka biopic

Actor Jahnvika Kalakeri, who had earlier acted in films like Prarambha and Oh My Love, has signed her third project in Sandalwood, which is a based on the life of social activist and freedom fighter Veer Sarvakar. Suneel Rao is stepping into the role of Veer Savarkar.

Jahnvika, is portraying the role of Yamunabai, wife of Veer Savarkar. Jahnvika is the great-grand daughter of a renowned Shenai player Sanadi Appana. The actor will be undergoing workshop from March end to get into the skin of the character. The team plans to begin shooting from March 25.

Speaking to a leading entertainment daily, Jahnvika had said, “I never thought I would get such a matured character so early in my career. It’s never easy to portray a character once lived. I hope workshops will help to dig deep into the role. It’s a very powerful role which I am looking forward to bring it on the silver screen.”


The project also has Anu Prabhakar, Ravi Shankar, Sai Kumar and Rangayana Raghu in significant roles. The team is planning to approach Anupam Kher to play a key role. Anupam Kher is also acting in another Kannada film, Ghost. Which has Shivarajkumar in the lead role.
