Jayaram Karthik, popularly known as
JK, is an accomplished cricketer as well, having played at club level and a celebrity cricket league that was on for many years. So, it is no wonder that the actor was picked for a role in the upcoming biopic on the life of international cricketer
Mithali Raj. The film, Shabaash Mithu, has Taapsee Pannu playing the title character, and is being directed by
Srijit Mukherji.
And JK, we hear, will join the team in August. “I have a 15-odd day schedule for the film, starting August 12, either in Mumbai or Hyderabad. I am not at liberty to speak about my character, but rest assured, it is a pivotal role that has an impact on the narrative. While my cricketing history got me the role, my knowledge of the game will come in handy in doing justice to it,” says JK.
But before he heads off for his next in Bollywood, the actor will shoot for a guest role in the Kannada film Talwar, which has Dharma Kirthiraj in the lead role. “I am playing a don in Talwar. This was my first outing on a set since lockdown relaxations came in. My character will be seen in the opening scene of the movie. I have shot high-octane action sequences, which set the tone for the rest of the narrative,” sums up JK, who has also wrapped up his film Iravan.
