Prasad is not a new face in

Kannada

cinema. With roots in Mysuru, he tells us that his parents continue to speak Kannada at home, and therefore, he says, “Kannada is in my genes.” So, when he chanced upon an offer to make his directorial debut in Kannada, he took that up right away had has now spent most of this year on this film – Lucky Man.

“I had been toying with the idea of filmmaking and this seemed just right," he says of this official remake of the Tamil film

, and the fact that he spent time in London to study

choreography

and filmmaking, has helped him prepare to take up direction. “Choreography remains a priority, of course, but I am drawn towards filmmaking as well. I love the process of learning, and filmmaking allows one to dive deeper into the artform,” he says.

Nagendra also tells us that he relates to the title Lucky Man in more ways than one. “Take the song that we shot last week for instance, I consider myself lucky that my brother Prabhudeva readily agreed to be a part of that song. While on the topic of songs, I feel a romantic comedy is driven by music and I am blessed to have a new composer

who has composed a soundtrack that will blow everyone's minds off. Apart from that, I consider myself lucky to have got the opportunity to debut as a director with this film," he explains.
