Kannada star Shiva Rajkumar undergoes successful bladder cancer surgery; Daughter Niveditha releases a statement

Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar successfully underwent surgery for bladder cancer at the Miami Cancer Institute (MCI) in the United States on December 24, 2024. Following the surgery, his daughter, Niveditha Shivarajkumar, provided an uplifting update via a statement on X (formerly Twitter), expressing gratitude for the support they received throughout this challenging journey.

In her post on the social media site, she wrote, "It is the prayers and love of all the fans and our loved ones that have kept us going through tough times. Thank you for your support!".

Niveditha shared that her father's surgery was completed successfully and that he is now in stable condition and recovering well. She described Shiva as a pillar of strength during this time and thanked the medical team at MCI, particularly Dr. Murugesh Manoharan, for their exceptional care. Niveditha also expressed heartfelt appreciation to fans for their prayers and unwavering support for their beloved superstar.

In a bigger statement, she wrote, "With the grace of God, my father’s surgery was successfully completed. He is now in stable condition and recovering well. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the exceptional medical team and Dr. Murugesh Manoharan at Miami Healthcare for their unwavering support and care. Throughout this journey, my father has been a pillar of strength. His resilience and determination in facing these challenges have been a source of inspiration, providing us all with the courage to navigate this difficult time."

Dr. Murugesh Manoharan, who led the surgical team, confirmed in a video statement that the operation went very well. He explained that Shiva Rajkumar had his cancerous bladder completely removed and an artificial bladder reconstructed using his own intestine. The doctor praised Shiva's mental and physical strength, noting that he remained stable throughout the surgery and post-operative care.

Regarding Shiva Rajkumar's recovery, Dr. Manoharan stated that all of his laboratory tests were normal and that he expected the actor to recover quickly and return to normalcy within a few weeks.

Shiva Rajkumar's wife, Geetha Shivarajkumar, also addressed fans with gratitude for their support and mentioned that her husband would personally connect with them in a few days.

On the work front, Shiva Rajkumar was last seen in the Kannada film 'Bhairathi Rangal', released on November 15, 2024. He has multiple films in his pipeline.
