Kavya Gowda to get married on May 13 in Bengaluru

Earlier this week, actress Kavya Gowda surprised her followers on social media, when she posted images from her pre-wedding shoot in Dubai, with a long note about having found the love of her life. When we called her to congratulate her, Kavya told us that she is set to marry Bengaluru-based

businessman Somshekar

in an

intimate ceremony

on May 13 at a hotel in the city. The

wedding

will be attended only by close members of the two families.

Kavya says, “It’s an arranged

marriage

. My parents had been on the lookout for a partner for me, and found Somshekar to be a good match. I accepted their choice, as my parents only have my best interest in their hearts. When I spoke to Somshekar, I felt he is a nice guy with whom I can began a new chapter of my life.” The actress adds that the wedding will take place according to the guidelines laid down by the government in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. “I am the youngest daughter in the family and Somshekar is the youngest in his, so, ideally, both families wanted the wedding to be a grand affair, but keeping in mind the current situation because of the second wave of Coronavirus we thought of having a simple event.”

What about acting? The actress has, after all, not taken up anything new after

two years ago. "I did not accept any offers after Radha Ramana as I wanted to enjoy myself by travelling and spending quality time with my family, which I may not be able to do once I get married. I am happy with what I have achieved in acting in the eight years that I was in the industry,” she signs off.
