Kannada movie Kenda is set to hit the screens this Friday. The movie has B V Bharath in the lead role. Talking about the movie, writer and cinematographer Sahadev Kelvadi, who is making his debut as a director, says, “Kenda is a socio-political satire with an absurdist element, as it follows a protagonist trying to find some purpose in a meaningless world. What we’ve tried to explore through this film is the journey of a common man dealing with a reality where his dreams and aspirations don’t pan out as well as he expects.”

“The movie is an intimate journey of a factory worker named Keshava (Bharath) and his fortuitous tryst with crime and politics,” continues Sahadev, adding, “How Keshava deals with these newfound situations forms the crux of the story. There are multiple supporting characters, who influence Keshava’s journey greatly; namely Pranav Sridhar, who is a friend, and other roles portrayed by Gopal Krishna Deshpande, Pranav, Sachin and Bindu.”
“The movie contains three songs, two of which are situational and the third a travel-rap song named Dhoolu..., which sits well with the flow of the story. Overall, Kenda has all the elements which will connect well with audiences,” he says.
