Makers of Rishab Shetty's 'Kantara 2' break silence on film's postponement: 'Trust us, it’ll be worth the wait...'

Rishab Shetty’s highly anticipated film, 'Kantara: Chapter 1' , a prequel to his acclaimed 2022 blockbuster 'Kantara ', has been making headlines due to repeated hurdles during its shoot. Reports have been circulating on social media suggesting that the film might not be released in theatres on October 2, 2025. Amidst speculation regarding a possible delay, the production team has confirmed that the film’s progress remains unaffected.

The makers addressed the rumours directly on Thursday (May 22) via their official X (formerly Twitter) handle, stating: "We’re right on track, and everything is progressing as planned. #KantaraChapter1 will release in theatres worldwide on October 2, 2025. Trust us, it’ll be worth the wait. We kindly urge everyone to avoid speculation and refrain from sharing unverified updates.”

Kantara 2 previously made headlines following the accidental drowning of junior artist MF Kapil. The production house had issued a statement asserting that no filming was in progress at the time of the incident.
“No filming was scheduled on that day, and the unfortunate event occurred during his personal engagement, outside the scope of any film-related activity,” the statement read. Prior to this, a vehicle carrying junior artists overturned on set. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.



Tragedy struck again when actor Rakesh Poojary passed away at the age of 34 due to a heart attack. His sudden demise left the team and fans in shock. Actor-turned-director Rishab Shetty expressed his grief through a heartfelt message on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
