Manoj Kumar, who was seen in romantic movies like
Moggina Manasu
and
O Premave
, is all set for a very different role in Body God, a thriller and black comedy directed by
Prabhu Srinivas. The film releases on April 1.
Manoj Kumar says, “I play a middle-class guy who faces many adversities in life and takes up many jobs to eke out a living. He lands a job at a home where he has to look after an aged person. What happens when that person suddenly passes away forms the main storyline. It is my character which keeps everyone on the edge of the seat and takes the story forward.”
On choosing Body God to break the stereotype, he says, “I don’t want to stick to a particular genre. As an actor, I wanted to prove myself by trying out a variety of characters which were offered to me by Prabhu Srinivas. I hope I have done justice to the character.”
Regarding working with
Guruprasad, he adds, “He has an abundance of talent. We had many discussions regarding filmmaking which gave me plenty of practical knowledge. Our chemistry plays a very important role in the movie which is one of the highlights.”
