Manvita Kamath says favouritism exists in film industry

The nepotism debate has become one of the most spoken topics after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. There have been many that have spoken about this in various industries in recent times. In an a story by a daily in Bengaluru,

actress Manvita Kamath

has also admitted that the film industry does sometime favour influence and favouritism over talent, when she recounted some of her experiences while trying to audition for films in Mumbai.
The actress, who has been seen in films like

Kendasampige

and Tagaru, has been quoted as saying, "Producers, directors and actors all have a say here."

The actress has further said, “Gone are the days where genuine auditions were done. Today, filmmakers ask for TikTok videos. A casting director told me I was good but another person was chosen because of reasons unknown to me." This was apparently with regards to an audition that the Filmfare winning actress did for a leading banner, which was then given to someone else.
Manvita, meanwhile, is waiting for the release of two of her

Kannada films

. The first is Shiva 143, which is alongside

Dheeren Ramkumar

and is backed by

Jayanna Combines

. She also has

Rajasthan Diaries

, which is a Kannada and Marathi bilingual film which marks her debut in that film industry. She also has taken to screenwriting during the lockdown and is ready with her first script that she has plans of directing too. She is currently taking feedback from friends in the industry with regards to the script.
